In order to qualify for Federal Financial Aid (Federal Pell Grants/Federal Perkins and Nursing Loans/ Federal S.E.O.G/Federal Work Study/Federal Stafford Loan/ Federal Plus Loans), a student must maintain satisfactory academic progress as established by the college in accordance with Federal guidelines. Students should be aware that their entire academic record will be considered in the determination of eligibility for financial assistance whether or not they had previously received aid.

Satisfactory Academic Progress

  1. Satisfactory Academic progress is defined as follows:
    1. Successful completion of 75% of all credits attempted.

      30 - 44 1.9
      45 or more 2.0
      bullet"W", "I", "F", "E", "N", and "WX", grades will be
calculated into the G.P.A. as credits unattempted with
      zero grade points earned.
  2. If withdrawal from a class does not bring the student below full-time
status, this withdrawal(s) will not be calculated into credits attempted
or the Grade Point Average as described in 1c.
  3. Courses may be repeated only once to be counted toward making
satisfactory progress. Students will not receive financial aid for
    courses attempted more than twice.
  4. Developmental courses will be counted toward making satisfactory
progress. Students will not receive financial aid for courses attempted
    more than twice.
  5. Students who feel that there are extenuating circumstances which may effect the denial of financial aid have the right to appeal in accordance with the Financial Aid Appeal Process on their campus. Appeals should be in writing and accompanied by appropriate documentation.
  6. Students who are suspended or restricted for academic reasons and
satisfy the stipulation of the Academic Division are not automatically
eligible for renewal of their financial aid. Students must still meet the
