The courses in DEVAP are divided into two areas of instruction: veterinary specific course modules and general education courses. The first seven course modules in the veterinary specific area introduce basic principles of veterinary assisting and students are expected to perform tasks suitable for that level of instruction. The two remaining course modules reinforce the knowledge and skills gained in the previous courses and introduce increasingly more technical education and skills. General education courses are in the areas of English or speech communications, mathematics, and biology and are intended to develop basic skills needed in these areas. |
