The Veterinary Assistant's Role in the Practice Team At the present time, there is a great deal of confusion about what the various members of the veterinary medical team should be called. There is also much confusion on the part of the public regarding the level of training each member of the practice team possesses. The veterinary assistant supports the veterinarian and the veterinary technician. The assistant's responsibilities include feeding, restraining, transporting, and exercising animals.
