The Veterinary Assisting Program (VAP) is a new addition to the Veterinary
Technology Department at Cedar Valley. Two tracks will be available: 1) The Small
Animal Veterinary Assisting Certificate, and 2) The Large Animal Veterinary
Assisting Certificate. The VAP is a certificate program that requires students
to complete from 16 to 20 semester credit hours depending on which certificate
is pursued. Veterinary Assistants are a valuable part of the veterinary health
care team. They serve to assist both the veterinarian and the veterinary
technician in a practice setting. Students who complete the VAP can continue
their education in the CVC Veterinary Technology Program and become a
credentialed technician if they choose. If you need more information or have
questions, contact the Program Director, Aleice Summers, 972-860-8194. You may
also email her at PAS3505@dcccd.edu.
