How do I get advised on what courses I should take?

Advisement for students is available by contacting the program staff. Students can also self-advise if they wish. The DEVTP is set up so that students can enroll in courses in a fashion that best suits their learning style and their career goals. There are a few simple rules that students must follow when advising themselves and enrolling in DEVTP courses.

  1. You can take courses in the same level of DEVTP in any order that you wish to take them.

  2. Students must complete all courses within a given level before advancing to courses in the next level.

  3. Students who wish to complete the Veterinary Receptionist certificate are not required to take all seven courses in Level One before taking General Hospital and Clinic Information 2 and 3, nor are they required to meet the general education prerequisites for the DEVTP.

For more information on the various levels of coursework, see the DEVTP Program Structure graphic.
