preceptor orientations
New Preceptors should read through the information in the Preceptor part of this site and become as familiar as possible with the information presented here. Included in this site are all of the DEVTP course workbooks in PDF format, the Student/Preceptor handbook, links to the students course sites so that Preceptors may easily and conveniently monitor their students progress in the courses, information on ordering tests and course materials, and a host of other useful information.
At the start of each new term there will be new student and Preceptor orientations. New Preceptors are faxed information on the orientation at the start of the term. The instructions on how to participate in the new Preceptor are included in the faxed information. Because there are a limited number of phone ports for the orientations, Preceptors should contact a DEVTP staff ember to reserve a specific day and time for an orientation session. The orientations are not formal lectures, but are question and answer sessions, and Preceptors can join the orientation at any time during the session, and may leave when their questions are answered and their concerns dealt with. The orientation sessions are most effective and valuable if the new Preceptor has read though the information on the site and has a clear picture of what will be expected during the DEVTP courses.
Any time a Preceptor has a concern or question they should contact the DEVTP office and we will always be glad to assist you in any way that we can.
